Heather Middlemass
Heather joined Cote & Evans Trial Lawyers as a temporary articled student, starting in May 2021. She has now joined our team as Articled Student May 2022.
Shortly after graduating from the University of Victoria with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science (with Distinction and Honours), Heather was accepted to the inaugural cohort of the JD/JID program at UVic. This program, the first of its kind in the world, combines rigorous training in both Canadian and Indigenous legal orders. She will graduate in 2022.
Heather grew up in Maple Ridge, B.C., on Katzie Nation territory. During her time at law school, Heather is the co-president of the First Generation Network UVic Chapter and works to make law school more accessible for those who are the first in their family to attend post-secondary. She also competed in the 2020 McIntyre Cup Trial Competition, further solidifying her passion for trial advocacy.
Heather enjoys spending time with her friends and family, and is a proud daughter, sister and auntie. When she’s not studying or gaining practical experience in the field, she likes to stay active, work on home projects and hangout with her partner and their pup.
