Kristy Jones

Kristy embarked on her legal journey through a practicum at the Vancouver Provincial Crown Counsel Office, facilitated by Capilano University. Starting as a legal assistant handling minor cases, she swiftly progressed to tackling more serious legal matters. Driven by her passion for the legal realm, Kristy commenced her Paralegal program in 2016, determined to ascend within the field. During her studies, Kristy’s exceptional abilities were recognized when she clinched victory in a competition, securing a role as a Paralegal on the Front-end Efficiencies Project.

Collaborating closely with law enforcement and Crown Counsel, Kristy played a pivotal role in crafting the Major Case Management Model—a directive that streamlined the disclosure responsibilities of police and prosecutors. This new model has since been adopted across Crown Counsel offices province-wide. Kristy thrives on embracing new challenges and expanding her legal horizons. Following eight years with Crown Counsel and another three years as an Investigative Assistant with the Independent Investigations Office, Kristy recognized the need to diversify her legal expertise. In early 2024, she joined Cote and Evans as a Family Law Paralegal, eager to delve into new legal arenas and broaden her knowledge base. When she is not in the office, Kristy relishes every moment spent in nature, often accompanied by her partner, daughter, and her Spanish Mastiff pups – Molly. You will also find her casting a line, fishing or camping in front of a good fire. Days spent indoors, you will find her whipping up culinary delights or immersing herself in thrilling video games.
