Partner
A founding partner at Cote & Evans Trial Lawyers, Paul Evans has practiced in Surrey since being called to the bar in 2012. He began his career as associate counsel at a leading criminal defence firm in B.C., before establishing his own practice which he expanded to include civil, family, estate, insurance and motor vehicle cases.
Paul knows that best result for a client is often achieved outside of a courtroom, where strategic positioning of a case can lead the other side to accept a resolution on terms favourable to Paul’s client. When a case proceeds to trial, Paul ensures effective courtroom representation of his clients through his calm but assertive demeanour, his strong reputation within the legal community, and a high degree of preparedness.
Paul has appeared successfully at all levels of court in B.C. on behalf of clients. His familiarity with different areas of law enables him to provide comprehensive advice to clients faced with complex and challenging litigation.
Paul holds an undergraduate degree in political science from University of British Columbia and a law degree from the University of Victoria. He is a member of the Trial Lawyers Association of B.C. and the Surrey Bar Association, and volunteers time with the Access Pro-Bono Clinic.
