A founding partner at Cote & Evans Trial Lawyers, Paul Evans has proudly practiced law in the Surrey area since being called to the bar. He began his career as associate counsel at a leading criminal defense firm in B.C., before establishing his own practice which he expanded to include civil, family and motor vehicle cases. Paul has appeared as counsel in all levels of court in B.C. on behalf of clients, including the Court of Appeal.
Paul’s focus is on obtaining positive and lasting results for his clients. He takes a strategic approach to each case he handles, as experience has taught him that careful planning and decision-making at the outset of a case can make all the difference at its conclusion.
The best result for a client is often achieved outside of a courtroom, where effective and strategic positioning of a case can lead the other side to accept a resolution on terms favourable to Paul’s client. When a case proceeds to trial, Paul ensures effective courtroom representation of his clients through his calm but assertive demeanour, his strong reputation within the legal community, and a high degree of preparedness.
Paul holds an undergraduate degree in political science from University of British Columbia and a law degree from the University of Victoria. He is a member of the B.C. Branch of the Canadian Bar Association, the Trial Lawyers Association of B.C. and the Surrey Bar Association.
